Amenhotep III's reign was one of relative peace and the prosperity. His reign lasted almost 40 years and was both stable and prosperous. During his time he focussed on international trade and obtaining a strong gold supply.  He did lead campaigns, but mainly earlier on in his reign. Amenhotep built many splendid temples and statuaries as a part of a building program, which glorified the city and showcased Egypt's wealth and dedication to religion.

 

 

The type of questions that you will be asked in relation to this dot point include those that ask you to assess Amenhotep's contributions to the period, and evaluating the significance of his reign.
