Stage 6 Ancient History
1.4 Post Amarna Reforms
The failure of the Amarna revolution left Egypt in need of a strong and stable government with a clear agenda for restoring the old ways. Although there may have been a brief period of rule by Smenkhkare (most likely Nefertiti), it was the work of Tutankhamen that began the restoration of Amun and the other gods.
Download the following PowerPoint presentation for more details about how Tutankhamen began restoring Egypt to its former glory.
NOTE that you should also discuss the contributions of Horemheb, Seti I and Ramesses II. However, you will learn about these in more detail naturally as we complete dot point 1.7
